Silat Cingkrik comes from Rawa Belong. Historically, around 1817, living swordsman named Ki Maing that once met Nyi Saereh with apes. Because the behavior of the Ape upset, Ki Maing was hit with a stick.
But, the repercussions are always misses because the monkeys are very agile. Arriving home, Ki Maing inspired agility and intelligence of the ape. He then combines movement with the stance he has ever mastered.


Creates movements that are known as Silat Cingkrik; derived from the word "jingkrik/jump". Over time, Silat Cingkrik developing in Jakarta. Ki Maing silat bequeath his creations to a number of his students, and then they introduce to the public Cingkrik Silat Betawi

Cingkrik is one of the Betawi arts stream. Because some of the major movements in the arts stream is jumping on one leg (the Betawi people call Jejingkrikan), silat is called Jingkrik or Cingkrik. Cingkrik is believed to be a "toy" Si Pitung. During its development, Cingkrik separate so multiple streams whose names were created by people who teach it. Until now there are two streams Cingkrik, namely Cingkrik Sinan and Cingkrik Goning.
The main difference is Sinan two schools not only teach technique, but also the power within. While Goning rely on mere physical engineering applications.
